How I Work
My Counselling, Coaching and Supervison Style
I offer a supportive and confidential environment in my Kelowna office, which is comfortable, professional and inviting.
Whether we are working in person, via Skype or on the telephone, you will likely find my presence comforting and reassuring.
I make every effort to help you feel safe to discuss your concerns with me. My clients tell me that I am caring, kind, and quickly able to assess their needs. They also report that I explain things in an easy to understand manner that makes sense to them.
I’ll work with you within a cooperative, respectful, and common sense framework. While I am the expert at counseling, you are the expert on your life and how you want to live it.
I will do what is necessary to make sure you get what you need in our sessions. My clients and colleagues have told me that I often go the “extra distance” in my work.
The Coaching / Counselling Process
When we begin our counselling or coaching sessions, we’ll discuss the problem(s) that are of concern to you and how they impact your life.
Once we both have a clear understanding of these issues, we’ll then set goals for our work together, and discuss the path to achieving these goals.
I see my clients as unique individuals with unique problems even when they may appear similar to others. Therefore, I’ll work with you to ensure that all goals are customized to best meet your needs.
As our sessions progress, we will review the counselling process and goals as necessary to make sure you get the best service and the best results possible.
If requested, I will help with referrals or in providing input or coordination with other professionals you are working with, in addition to me. I will also provide resources, guidance and reports to appropriate persons and organizations upon your request.

Biofeedback
I often use a groundbreaking form of biofeedback called HeartMath, which has been shown to produce a number of benefits including reducing stress, depression and anxiety. HeartMath has also been shown to help with a number of health conditions including hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes and those who have experienced congestive heart failure. Furthermore, HeartMath has been shown to be successful in increasing performance in athletes and in employees in the workplace. It can improve focus and concentration and increase productivity.
